How the overall score is calculated
We assess each category editorially on a five-point scale. The overall rating is the sum of each category score multiplied by its weight, then rounded to one decimal place. Fees and platform scores shown on broker profiles are the same inputs used in this calculation.
| Category | Weight |
|---|---|
| Safety & regulation | 30% |
| Trading costs | 25% |
| Platforms & technology | 20% |
| Asset coverage | 15% |
| Customer support & education | 10% |
| Total | 100% |
For example, five category scores of 4/5 produce an overall rating of 4.0/5.
These category assessments are editorial, not independently audited measurements. We do not publish a per-broker evidence workbook or a fixed verification schedule; a 0.1-point difference is not statistically significant.
1. Scope and selection
Our directory currently contains 15 named brokers. Inclusion is editorial, not a complete survey of every broker or market. A broker's presence is not an endorsement or a guarantee that it can open an account for you.
The directory combines stock and ETF brokers with forex and CFD specialists. These products are not interchangeable: a CFD gives you exposure to a price, not ownership of the underlying share. Check the product type before comparing offers.
- Broker identity, founding year and headquarters
- Regulator names, minimum deposit and supported funding methods
- Platform and asset lists, a short summary, advantages and drawbacks
- Overall rating, fees score and platforms score
2. How rankings work today
The worldwide rankings page sorts the brokers in our directory by their displayed overall rating, from highest to lowest. Equal ratings retain their directory order. The homepage highlights the first five entries in directory order; it is not the top five after sorting by rating.
Each country guide displays an editorially selected list of broker profiles for that country, in the order stored in that guide. Country ordering is not recalculated from the worldwide rating. A separate comparison view shows the selected broker fields side by side.
- Overall and category scores are displayed on a five-point scale.
3. What to compare
Use ratings as an initial filter rather than a decision rule. The published profile fields let you compare a broker's stated pricing position, platforms, supported assets, regulation and minimum deposit. Pros and cons summarize trade-offs but do not replace the broker's legal documents.
- Costs: look beyond a trading commission to spreads, currency conversion, financing, withdrawals, custody and inactivity charges.
- Product fit: distinguish ownership of stocks and ETFs from leveraged forex or CFDs, and check the actual instruments available in your jurisdiction.
- Platform fit: assess order types, research, mobile and desktop tools, accessibility and any tools you need for your strategy.
- Account fit: confirm eligibility, deposit methods, account currency, minimums and the local entity you would contract with.
4. Data sources and verification
Broker profiles are maintained as editorial records in the site content. Country pages likewise contain editorial selections and market notes. The site does not currently connect to a live pricing feed, a regulator registry or a broker API; displayed fees and availability should not be assumed to be real-time.
Before committing funds, check the broker's official fee schedule, client agreement and legal-entity disclosures. Verify a claimed licence directly on the relevant regulator's public register using the exact legal entity name and licence number. A familiar brand may operate through different entities with different protections in different countries.
- A regulator name in a profile is not proof that your account will be with that regulated entity.
- A displayed minimum deposit may vary by country, funding method or account type.
- Asset and platform lists describe the profile at a high level; they do not establish that every product is available to every visitor.
5. Country guides and localization
Country guides add local context such as the named regulator, currency, funding methods and an editorial broker shortlist. These guides are not individualized eligibility checks. Local licensing, onboarding, tax rules, product restrictions and investor protections may change.
The site is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic, Vietnamese and Thai. Translations help readers understand the same methodology; legal terms, broker product names and regulator names should still be checked against the original documentation in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Country shortlists are editorial selections, not a guarantee that each broker accepts every resident.
- A broker listed globally may not serve your country, or may serve it through a different entity.
6. Editorial independence and commercial links
Some outbound broker links may be affiliate links and may earn the site a commission at no extra cost to you. Do not interpret a link, badge or placement as proof of a better investment outcome. Rankings are not a personalized recommendation.
The site does not currently expose a public audit trail showing the evidence, reviewer and date for every individual broker field or score. We describe that limitation here rather than implying a level of independent testing that readers cannot verify.
- Compare the underlying terms at the broker before opening an account.
- Contact us if you spot an outdated fee, licence, product claim or country restriction.
7. Corrections and freshness
There is no live refresh or publicly documented fixed verification schedule for these broker records. A page date, site year or blog publication date should not be read as the date on which every broker field was last independently confirmed.
If you report a potential error, please include the broker, field, country and a link to the broker's or regulator's primary source. We can review the relevant editorial record and correct the page; we do not promise a particular turnaround time.
- Market conditions and fees can change between visits.
- A correction to one field does not automatically recalculate the published rating or country order.
8. Using this information responsibly
This website provides general information, not financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Trading carries risk, especially with leverage, and you may lose capital. Your circumstances, residency, goals and risk tolerance matter more than a single score.
Use this site to build a shortlist, then verify the current terms, regulation and protections with the broker and official authorities before acting. If you need advice tailored to you, consult a qualified independent professional.
